Pictures from Valparaiso and Santiago

Valparaiso, Chile    Building clinging to the hillsides

View from the ship
Vina Del Mar, the resort town that was founded after Valparaiso got too crowded
Both Valparaiso and Santiago is know for having a lot of stray dogs.  However, they are all well taken care of by the locals, and simply enjoy the free life.   Lucky devils they got to roam wherever they wanted.  We on the other hand due to Covid are very restricted.
Lovely Victorian buildings in Valparaiso
Inviting fresh vegetable market.  These types of stores are just almost on every street corner.
European architecture everywhere in Santiago
And looking the other direction you will see modern high rise buildings connected by overhead glass walkways.
The promenade.   Once a street,  it was closed during the construction of the underground transport system.  People so much enjoyed this pedestrian zone, that they begged the city to keep it that way.  Now lined with caffès and shops.  And the street itself painted in vivid designs.
The old and new side by side
The lovely parks are everywhere.  This one was especially lovely,  multiple levels, varies spends and walkways leading to the Swans ( Black Necked Swans) and Flamingos as well as other aquatic birds. It was a beautiful sunny day to stroll through that park
The Black Necked Swans in Santiago.  How beautiful

Some one with a sense of humor!!
Departing Valparaiso/Santiago
Oh lets not forget the Flamingos,  they are not getting the right type of shrimp for they seem to lack that true pink color
