Ship Life

 Hello Everyone,

Some of you have asked what it is like to be at sea for 9 days.  Well it is great.  Only boring people will get bored for there is always plenty to do on board, besides keeping up with friends via email, or updating this blog.  We get wonderful meals, a variety of lectures, movie performances, evening programs such as Magicians, singers, dancer, Ventriloquist  and so on.   Then of course you can walk on multiple decks, or exercise  in the gym. And if that is not enough, you can swim, lounge around the bars and yes maybe in between find time to consume three sumptuous meals.   Always people to talk to if you are so inclined.

We even have stretch,  yoga, arts and crafts, IPhone, bridge, and Mahjong classes.  And if you are into picture puzzles, well you have come to the right place.  There may be more.  But, I a think I have made my point.    Oh and heaven forbid our sea days are interrupted with wonderful and adventurous ports of call.

This is why it is hard to get bored,  and I ask myself where did the day go.

I will share a few pictures of the ship, for those of you have not gone on line and taken a virtual tour of our ship the Viking Star.    Enjoy

Deck 8, walking deck with view to the main pool.  Has a retractable roof, so regardless the weather it is always nice to swim and enjoy the lounges and maybe a cocktail..
The Infinity pool and one of two jacuzzi hot tubs at the aft of the ship
Deck 9, Sun and Sport deck.  Also used by walkers who want the added challenge of walking a flight of stairs up and down.  I do that for the added calorie burn.  There you will also find shuffle board, Boccie court, upholstered lounges and lounge chairs.

There is the put put golf course
Step inside from the infinity pool and find a bar and casual dining.
Also on deck 7, the Cafe, essentially cafeteria style eating, with added waitstaff to bring drinks and anything else from the food bar you may desire.  Both in and outdoor seating is available.
This is called the Winter-garden,  There afternoon tea and finger food is served at 3 pm
The Viking Star Theater, used for lectures, evening performances, and yesterday the staging area for providing booster Covid shots for those that wanted them.
While part of the main theater this area can be closed off for Movie shows and other small gathering events.
One of the formal dining room areas.  There is one on each side of the ship.
Their wine selection.  Only a small sample of what is available.
One of the many reading and social areas

One of the gym rooms.

There is also a spa that includes sauna, hot and cold water pools, massage rooms, hair and nail solons, beauty products ( to late for most of us) a jewelry, clothes, boutiques and an Essentials store for those that run out of toothpaste etc.  And strangely enough a variety of Pringles,  as if we did not get enough food on board.  But then maybe I should not make fun,  I bought a 2 pound box of Raw Whole Almonds at Walmart in Puerto Vallarta to much on. The ones they have and supply your fridge with every day are smoke salted and well I just hate them.  They shall remain uneaten.

Next Stop Cabo (Cape) Verde.
